Kristi Hundt MA, LAc

Master Acupuncturist and Herbalist

Kristi Hundt MA, LAc is a Nationally Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture and a Licensed Acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She is licensed by the State of California and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is certified for Oncology Acupuncture through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Kristi began her study of herbal medicine while living in Colorado in the 1990s and working as an herbalist’s apprentice. This study brought her to the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) where she graduated in 2001 with a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a certification to teach Qi Gong. The Herbal Medicine program at OCOM is widely understood to be the most demanding in the nation and OCOM is consistently ranked number one for acupuncture schools in the nation as well. Kristi’s practice of Chinese Herbology is grounded in ancient texts as well as cutting edge pharmacology. The nuanced nature of prescribing herbal remedies is truly a science and an art that takes passion and commitment to master. It is a livelong study that she enjoys. Kristi has been studying wellness and nutrition since 1993 when she began her Ashtanga yoga practice. She considers herself fortunate to assist patients on their road to wellness and draws from a variety of therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, bodywork, lifestyle and nutritional coaching, Medical Qi Gong, and mind-body practices.

Although her medicine allows her to benefit people with all disease patterns, she specializes in treating patients in these areas: Trauma & Addiction, Cancer-related Disorders, Chronic Illness, Pain-related Disorders, Women’s Health, and Sports Medicine & Wellness. Her integrated approach is particularly well-suited to assisting patients before, during and after chemotherapy and radiation. She is certified through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for Oncology Acupuncture and is skilled at treating oncology-related disorders. She encourages questions and views her role as a health care provider as an educational one. She applauds the role of awareness in feeling strong and works to create this space for her patients.

Kristi enjoys the quiet, nature-oriented lifestyle of the Santa Ynez Valley where she both lives and works.
